Everyone has dreams and everyone has a plan for their life. Some have it perfectly played out step by step according to what they think is best. Others are just going to figure it out as they go with the flow (that’s still a plan). However it may be, we all have a way that seems right to us. Proverbs 16:25 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” We can try to make everything happen our way, but our way will always end in death.
Good news, God has offered us a way out! Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to The Lord, and your plans will be established.” If we are working with Jesus, we are capable of doing more than we ever dreamed to do. That is because God’s plan for our life is always greater than our own plans. If we make the plan, “God, I’ll do whatever you tell me to do”, He will work for his glory and for your good.
What stirs your heart? What dreams have taken root in your soul? It’s natural to have ambitions and longings, but the path to fulfilling them is often winding and uncertain. We may be tempted to chart our own course, relying on what seems right in our own eyes. But the Bible warns us that this way inevitably leads to ruin.
In 1 Corinthians 10:31, we are called to a higher purpose: “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” This verse challenges us to reorient our lives around a single, unifying goal – bringing honor and praise to our Creator. When we surrender our dreams, our work, and our very lives to Him, something extraordinary happens.
God’s plans for us begin to unfold, often in ways we could never have imagined. We discover that His vision for our lives is far more fulfilling and impactful than anything we could conjure up on our own. And as we each seek His glory, we also witness His awesome plan for our church and community taking shape.
So let us dream big, but let us also live for His glory as a visionary one. May every endeavor, every decision, every breath be an offering of worship to the One who holds our future and our dreams in His hands.
